Hello everyone,
310! That is the official number of Mirabook out of production which passed our quality control. This is a very big step for the project because we are now able and qualified to reproduce this quality thousands of times. The next step is to scale and improve quality for 1500 units in January before Chinese New Year (tough task). Before that we have launched a small batch of 30 units with some board stability and mechanical improvements. The goal is to test them before scaling.
The 310 units will be delivered in the upcoming weeks to the biggest contributors meaning the ones who ordered big quantities. We believe, it is a fair and necessary way of proceeding as this can lead to more orders in the future and ensure the financial sustainability of our small company. The final objective is to have enough financial resources to deliver all backers before May 2020.

On the lapdock market, some people are considering the Mirabook as outdated now because of DeX for PC and other competitors. The market has never been as ready as for today and let us explain you why:
1- In 2017 6 smartphones were fully compatible with Mirabook, including 3 with the dead Windows Phone operating system. Now there are more than 20 compatible smartphones on the market and it is about to increase with Android Q desktop mode.
2- Mobile processors are way more performant today and can comes with 10GB of RAM.

Hello guys,
I hope that everyone had a great summer. On our side it was a tough one because we have a lot of pressure on us considering the big challenge that is to make a production.
Now is the time for us to explain what we’ve been through and also what we will go through in the upcoming weeks.
In July we have corrected many many issues both on mechanical and electronic parts to improve the quality of the first batch. We made a test production of 30 units on mid-July to measure if the product was ready or not and tried to pass the certification tests. Our team has personally tested these units for a month now and has detected basic failures on certain units. This is not caused by the design of the electronic board but by the lack of quality during the board assembly.

Right now we cannot risk having a 40% defect rate on production, which is why we are organizing the rework of the 500 boards that we already have. This should take place in the upcoming next 2 weeks.
A few days ago we successfully passed some certifications, and in the meantime, we are waiting for the final validation of the rest by next week. If the remaining certifications don’t pass, this will imply more modifications to include for the boards to be reworked.
September Objectives:
1-Pass the certifications
2-Rework and test the PCBA
3-Produce a batch of 500 units
We are very confident that we can succeed in these objectives and then scale to the full production of 2000 units in total at the end of the year. In the last few weeks we have received quite a few discouraging messages from the community from backers who are very impatient. Now I want to say, please refrain yourself from sending these types of messages. The team has had enough pressure and we need to keep a fresh motivation for this big challenge. Hello guys,
First, we would like to apologize for the lack of communication these days. Our team was in China and because of internet censorship we couldn't access any social media. Usually we use a VPN, but because it was Tian'anmenwas hardly possible.
Last year we did a test production to measure the quality and the different issues to fix. This last visit was about making a pre-production, to make sure quality was fine before making the main production a few days after.
Unfortunately we noticed many issues that could not be considered as acceptable.
-The Electronic board did not fit well on the shell causing many issues
-The Keyboard Bar space was not working properly
-And other minor issues
The reason of all of that is the lack of professionalism and lies from our suppliers. The Shell and the electronic supplier hate each other. We thought our trip was going to be a happy trip, just making sure Mirabooks were fine, and it appeared to be a problem-solving trip.
In the end, the good news is that we managed to fix almost all the issues, but we must make some improvements, and this will require more time. We expect to fix all production issues by mid July and start the rest of the production in August.

Hi guys,
In this update, we will talk about some problems we faced and the incoming challenges. Like we said before, we will not provide any delivery date until we are certain of it. Here is what's going on:
-We lost almost 2 months negociating with battery suppliers because they didn't want to take our battery order. The reason was low volume, but in the end we succeded.
-We will receive all the components at the factory in April except for the batteries that will arrive middle of May. Early May we'll have 100 battery so we will start a pre-production. The objectif is to calibrate the assembly and the quality. Most of these units will go to certification labs. Once we are okey with the quality, we tell the factory to assemble 1900 units, that can be done in 2 weeks.
-Another challenge will be the deliveries. We are already in touch with 3PL companies that can handle that all along.
To sum up, the first part of the production is almost over (supplying components) and we are planning a date with the factory for the assembly. One of our team member is in China at the moment to make sure we are on track. We will go in China again in May to monitor and control the quality.
